a week of bachelor hedonism beckons... ;-)

Just waved Jenny off as she flies to Uganda for a week, checking out an orphanage project in rural Ruwenzori (and seeing some elephants too, she wishes...)

Hmm, what shall I do? I know, I think I'll stay up till 3am playing with my website :-D

del.icio.us is fantastic

del.icio.us is just great. Especially if, like me, you often find yourself staring at a browser window wondering where to go and trying to think of something interesting you want to research on the web.

I'm *not* saying there's not tons of great stuff out there. The problem is thinking of what to do when you have no links to start with. Sometimes it works and you spend hours browsing away, finding an infinity of fascinating websites and learning thousands of things and being stimulated to think new thoughts. But sometimes, your brain just sits in neutral. You don't want to start with some dodgy portal like Yahoo or MSN with all the latest kool news on Britney or the horoscopes or whatever. You want something fresh, individual and unexpected to get you surfing.

With delicious, it's easy. You just follow links from your own handy date-sorted bookmarks list, and see who else's interests overlap with yours. Then go to their bookmarks page and see what other goodies you find. It's a great way of merging lots of people's bookmarks into an intricate public web of esoterica and wonderful things. It reminds me of the way the web was 6 or 7 years ago.

Tasty? is a cool way of seeing who has delicioused a certain page, as well.

And just to be super cool, there's extispicious as well. Toys, toys, toys; fun, fun, fun.
